Swan Creek Channel and Bank Stabilization - Engineering Design
TRI_0135
Swan Creek upper and lower valley reaches are substantially incised due to historic land use practices in the basin, most recently urbanization. This has resulted in an imbalance of sediment supply and sediment transport capacity, resulting in significant amounts of sediment washed downstream to the floodplain reaches. The excessive sediment from channel and bank erosion contributes substantially to poor habitat conditions limiting salmonid abundance and distribution. This project involves field walk to identify geomorphic conditions and development of the engineering and design plans for channel and bank stabilization and restoration in the valley reaches using LWD.
