Open Knowledge Networks to Support Regulatory Best Available Science
IMP_0435
The purpose of this agreement is to assemble independent science teams to organize evidence around selected topics by: 1. Evaluating new scientific evidence to generate decision support for regulatory policy by multiple agencies, including in relation to Habitat Equivalency Analysis (HEA) quantification methods. In addition, this project will identify where gaps in evidence affect regulatory policy to inform future work by the nearshore science community. 2. Enhancing and expanding simple transparent regulatory models that describe development impacts on beaches, embayments and river deltas. These models are products of the National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration’s (NOAA’s) National Marine Fisheries Service (NMFS), and will be available on NOAA’s web page for decision support in Endangered Species Act (ESA) implementation by NMFS as well as for use by applicants and partners. 3. Establishing an open knowledge web-based platform to receive and organize documents and summaries from any partner in our network that can be easily adapted over time. (IAA202255).
